While we don’t necessarily want to support this movement and don’t want to pressure anyone to spend their hard-earned money during times of high living costs, we still want to show which deals are available for fans of pen-and-paper games. Black Friday 2023: Deals for Dungeons and Dragons
The classic roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons is probably interesting for most of our readers. After all, it’s the most played and best-known pen-and-paper game in the world. The following deals could be exciting for D&D fans, maybe even as Christmas gifts.
- 🛒Dungeons & Dragons Core Rulebook Gift Set: In this basic set you’ll find everything you need to understand the rules of D&D and start your own campaign. It contains the PLAYER’S HANDBOOK, the DUNGEON MASTER’S GUIDE and the MONSTER MANUAL. All three books are really useful and fun to read. However, this deal is probably more for beginners than for roleplaying veterans.
- 🛒Curse of Strahd: A Dungeons & Dragons Sourcebook: We love Curse of Strahd. We even consider it the best adventure currently available for D&D 5e. Feel free to read here why! I personally can really recommend this dark adventure about vampire lord Strahd to every roleplaying group.
- 🛒Dungeons & Dragons : Monster Manual (English Version): The Monster Manual is only one third of the gift set linked above. But in my opinion it’s also the coolest book of them. Because: The book is full of cool artwork of various monsters in D&D! Even just browsing through it is fun. Plus you get a whole bestiary, so you’ll always have suitable opponents for your party at hand. It was a great addition to my D&D book collection back then.
- 🛒Eberron: Rising from the Last War: A cool setting in Eberron. With robots and lots of steampunk. I haven’t played it myself yet, but I’ve heard many good things. Eberron is a legend in the D&D community and could also host your next adventures.
- 🛒Call of the Netherdeep: Fans of Critical Role will be happy that a book by Matt Mercer and Co. is also on sale. Call of the Netherdeep is the first book that isn’t a campaign setting for the show and even offers its own adventure for readers. Definitely something for fans, probably not so much for others.
Black Friday 2023: Deals for Alternative Pen-and-Paper Game Systems
But in the world of pen-and-paper there’s not just Dungeons and Dragons. The cool thing about this hobby is that it’s diverse and everyone will find a game system or setting they like. However, I have to admit that the selection of cool deals for game systems beyond D&D looks really thin this year. If you’ve discovered great deals, please write them in the comments so other readers can benefit from them. Here are the cool deals I found for players who prefer alternative game systems:
- 🛒Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition: While Mansions of Madness isn’t a traditional pen-and-paper roleplaying game, it does work on the same principle. Together with your party you play a cooperative dungeon crawler. You don’t need a Dungeon Master for this, an app takes care of that. Totally helpful when no one has time to prepare a game. I played it once and had a lot of fun that evening.
- 🛒Pathfinder RPG: Advanced Player’s Guide (P2): Similar to D&D, but yet different. Pathfinder is a fantasy RPG that offers more possibilities in character creation than D&D. Worth trying out.
Black Friday 2023: Deals for Pen-and-Paper Accessories
Those who still need to stock up on everything you need for pen-and-paper are in luck. There are lots of deals this Black Friday. So even so-called dice goblins get their money’s worth. Have fun shopping!
