A key aspect that makes D&D so captivating are the different races you can choose from to create your characters. Each race brings unique abilities, cultures, and stories that enrich the gaming experience and combine with the various classes to create countless combinations. In this article, we take a look at the nine races presented in the D&D Basic Rules and provide a brief overview of each one.

Besides these races, there are others that are not included in the Basic Rules. We will also present these in another article soon.

Humans

Humans are the most versatile and widespread race in the worlds of D&D. They adapt quickly to most environments and are known for their resourcefulness and determination. Humans have no specific ability bonuses, which gives them the freedom to choose any class with equal success. Their versatility makes them a popular race for players who value flexibility and adaptability.

Dwarves
